Letter to UC Davis advisory groups
March 20, 2009
To the UC Davis Technical Community and Friends,
We would like to invite you to participate in--and to encourage your staff to participate in--the upcoming University of California Computing Services Conference (UCCSC) on June 16-17, 2009 here at UC Davis.
This conference promises to be a unique and valuable experience; in addition to UCCSC's tradition of providing content-packed lecture presentations, there are a substantial number of practical, hands-on training opportunities included in this year’s program. Further, despite difficult economic times, the support from industry has been outstanding. With that support, plus extraordinary creativity on the part of the program committee and colleagues, the conference fee has been lowered to help reduce barriers to attendance.
We hope that you, as a member of the Davis technical community or as the supervisor of technical community members, will review the event program and see the value of encouraging strong attendance. What better time than tough times to take advantage of a world-class UC-wide conference right on your home turf?
Please join us in thanking the program committee for thinking creatively to develop a low-cost and, most of all, high quality program for this year's UCCSC.
Below please find the announcement from the system-wide IT Leadership Council Executive Committee urging each campus to support its technical staff in attending this UC Davis hosted conference. There you will also find the address for the Web page for additional event information.
See you there!
